The loyalty program hack that can save you even more at Freedom

Freedom’s loyalty program, myFreedom, gives members a $50 voucher for every $1500 spent at Freedom – and it can be through multiple purchases, as long as they’re within a 12-month period. This means it’s an easy way to upgrade your home’e furniture over time and save in the process.

Joining myFreedom is free, and also gives you other member benefits including free metro delivery for online homeware purchases over $149, extended 60-day change of mind returns for homewares and VIP access to evens and member-exclusive promotions.

More ways to save at Freedom

  • Online exclusives: Freedom’s online store has an extended range that often includes exclusive savings and offers. For example, I recently found a $239.80 discount on a gorgeous Chapala floor lamp by Grand Designs and up to 50% off a beautiful range of rugs.
  • Interior decorator service: If you want some guidance before you buy new furniture, Freedom offers a free 30-minute consultation with an interior designer over the phone or in store. They’ll even ask about your budget, so you can get recommendations that match what you want in the room and what you want to spend.
  • Click and collect: Freedom offers free click and collect from its stores for eligible items, which can be a great way to save on shipping if you’re not a myFreedom member – or if you are but the order doesn’t meet the free shipping criteria.
  • Sales: Freedom has frequent sales on its products, and a sale and clearance section online. But I’ve found some of the best deals during major sales events like Black Friday, Click Frenzy and Boxing Day.

FAQs when shopping with Freedom

Is there a discount code for your first order with Freedom?

At the moment, there’s no discount on your first order at Freedom. But you could get a $50 voucher towards a future Freedom purchase by joining myFreedom and spending $1500 with them in 12 months. In the future, Freedom may offer a first order promo code – and if that happens we’ll have details here.

Does Freedom have a student discount?

Unfortunately, Freedom doesn’t currently any discounts just for students but the sale and clearance section does have just about everything you’d need to furnish student accommodation (and more). You can also use filters to find discounts for the type of furniture and homeware you need.

Does Freedom have any other discounts?

Yes, Freedom offers a trade program for people who work as designers, stylists and anyone in a related trade, offering an ‘always on’ discount of 15% for full price items at Freedom, and 5% off sale and clearance pricing. Joining is fast and easy, but you’ll need an ABN and details of your relevant trade.

Does Freedom have free shipping?

Members of Freedom’s loyalty program can get free metro shipping on homeware purchases over $149, but there are delivery fees for furniture and other orders. The actual cost depends on what you buy and the delivery location, but as a guide, delivery fees start from $15.95 for homeware, from $69 for small furniture and from $129 for large furniture

You’ll be able to see the shipping costs before you commit to the purchase though. Your shipping costs will be calculated at checkout when you supply your suburb so make sure to check carefully.

How long does it take to get a Freedom order delivered?

Shipping depends on the products you’ve ordered and their stock levels in your state. Before you order you can get an estimate of the delivery times for transparency on the product page – gamechanger.

With some larger furniture items, like sofas, delivery can be pretty slow if they aren’t currently in stock or are made to order. We tested a few with delivery to Sydney and it gave us an estimate of 6-10 weeks.

Can I click and collect at a Freedom store if I order online?

Lucky for you, you can click and collect items from a nearby store if it’s in stock. There’s also the option to pick up items directly from a warehouse. That’s free too. You can select this at checkout and find your closest store before picking up.

Just make sure if you’re getting a bulky item that it fits in your car or trailer.

Does Freedom cover the cost of returns?

No. Unfortunately Freedom doesn’t cover shipping costs if you need to return an item. However, you can take items back to a Freedom store, too.

You can return your items within 30 days of purchase as long as they are in original condition, you have your receipt and they were not listed as being non-returnable.

If you’re not sure, check out the sites FAQs and Terms of Condition.

Does Freedom have buy now pay later?

Freedom has Afterpay, Zip Pay and Klarna, as well as Latitude, for buy now pay later and instalment plans. You can also pay with a credit card or debit card.

What’s good about shopping at Freedom online instead of in-store?

Shopping online allows us to have a comprehensive look at all the goodies Freedom has to offer. We also don’t have to feel rushed to purchase on the spot (no more buyer’s remorse!) and we can score bigger discounts through major sales events that are online exclusive.

Is Freedom an Australian furniture brand?

Freedom began in Australia, opening the first store in Sydney in 1981, and has since grown to have stores around Australia – along with popular pieces of furniture in plenty of homes. While it started in Australia, over the years Freedom has been owned by different multi-national companies, including Greenlit Brands. Freedom is now being acquired by rival Amart to form a $1 billion home-retail powerhouse while keeping its distinct identity. Still, the versatile furniture and range of prices at Freedom have earned it a place in many Aussie homes – and on shows like The Block (there’s even a section on the site where you can view and shop key pieces from recent seasons).
