The countdown to this year’s season of The Block is officially on, and things have already kicked off with a bang. The Block contestants have made their debut at Daylesford’s annual ChillOut Festival – some donning high-vis vests and colourful wigs for the occasion! Excited fans took to Facebook to share snaps of the five new teams: Han and Can, Robby and Mat, Britt and Taz, Emma and Ben, and Sonny and Alicia.
This year’s season of The Block will take place in Daylesford, where filming has already begun. In January, The Herald Sun reported that the contestants will be tasked with transforming five carbon-neutral homes designed by Group Architects and principal Architect of Brenchley Architects, Julian Brenchley.
What we know about The Block 2025’s contestants
While we know the names of this year’s Block contestants, almost all other details remain a mystery.
Britt and Taz
Britt and Taz are team red and are from Perth, WA. Information about the couple is scarce, but a now-deleted Instagram page @house_27_ reveals that this couple may have some renovation experience under their belt. A description for the Instagram page reveals that the couple have been chipping away at renovations of their 815sqm home in Perth.
Britt and Taz went all out with their costume for the parade. They both wore bejewelled caps, but Taz opted for a high-vis vest and budgie smugglers – classic.
Emma and Ben
Emma and Ben are team purple. We don’t know much about this pair yet but they do appear to be eager, fresh-faced and enjoying the festival’s atmosphere. They waved flags and danced with hoola hoops on their float during the parade. Will they still be dancing once the stress of The Block kicks in? Watch this space …
Han and Can
Han and Can are also a bit of a mystery, but what we do know is that they’re team orange. While the pair both shook rainbow pom poms during the parade, we’re not letting that or their fluoro cowboy hats distract us from the fact that they’re actually wearing pretty sleek outfits … That Hermes belt? Our guess is that these two will bring a luxe look to The Block this year.
Robby and Mat
Robby and Mat are team green. Details are still emerging about this team, but we can tell by their outfits that they’re not afraid of colour. We’re not sure who is who (yet), but if that rainbow wig is anything to go by, we can tell this team is going to go big or go home.
Sonny and Alicia
Sonny and Alicia are team yellow. Sonny and Alicia looked rather relaxed on their float in the parade, Alicia even wearing wings. Something tells me this couple’s experiences will see them fly through the challenges The Block throws at them …
Will all of the judges be returning to The Block this year?
The Block judges Darren Palmer, Shaynna Blaze and Marty Fox were also in attendance at ChillOut Festival. They watched the parade with hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft from the balcony of Daylesford’s Royal Hotel. That’s a good sign that all of the same judges from last year are indeed returning.
