How to add a code during the checkout process

Get a valid code: Click on “Get Code” to copy the promo code for a deal here (or “View Offer” for a deal that doesn’t have a code). To make it easy, a new window will also open and take you to the relevant section of Amazon Australia.
Shop on amazon.com.au: Once you’ve added your items to the cart, go to the check-out by clicking the basket icon at the top right. Go through the checkout process until you get to the payment details. There will be a list of available cards to pay with (or the option to add one) followed by a text link that says “Use a gift card, voucher or promo code”.
Enter the code: Click on “Use a gift card, voucher or promo code”, enter your Amazon promo code in the field that appears and click ‘Apply’.

Note: Make sure the code is exactly as it’s written. Or, as Amazon advises “Don’t add spaces before, inside of, or after the promotion code.”

How to add a code that’s offered on an Amazon product page

Sometimes Amazon promo codes can be activated before you even add the item to cart. You’ll usually see the deal highlighted on the product page and can click to activate it. Here’s an example of one I found when I was looking at robot vacuums.

Four tips to save more at Amazon

Subscribe and save: Amazon offers savings of up to 10% for subscription orders. For example, if you buy something like toothpaste or shampoo, Amazon will estimate how often you need a new one and automatically send it to you at a discounted rate. I’ve got about four subscription orders for my household and it’s one of my favourite ways to save because I don’t ever have to worry about running out of essentials.
Free delivery on your first eligible order: If you haven’t bought from Amazon before, you’ll be eligible for free shipping.
Exclusive Amazon app offers and features: Download the app onto your mobile device to access exclusive offers, including $10 off your first purchase in the app over $59.
Sign up for Amazon Prime membership: Amazon Prime is a paid membership service, but new members get a 30-day free trial. It’s $9.99 per month after the trial, and membership benefits include fast, free delivery for eligible orders, access to Prime Video and other entertainment, as well as exclusive discounts and offers. You can also cancel your membership at any time – including before the trial period ends.

When does Amazon have sales?

Amazon sales and promotions are updated frequently – sometimes I’ve seen offers change on the same day. You’ll find some amazing daily savings here, as well as on other parts of the website.

Make sure you also keep an eye out for major shopping holidays like Amazon Prime Day, Amazon Big Deals Days and Amazon Big Smile Sale for Amazon exclusive events across various categories, as well as Black Friday, Boxing Day, Click Frenzy, Afterpay Day and more

Amazon FAQs

As great as that would be, Amazon is among the (many) retailers that don’t let you use a promo code again and again.
But the good news is that you can add promo codes to your account and use them later. So, for example, if you’re at the checkout and add a code, then need to log off for some reason, it will be waiting for you next time you’re ready to make a valid purchase (as long as it hasn’t expired).
Amazon also adds valid promos back to your account if an order is cancelled (but this excludes returns).

How can I get 15% off on Amazon?

Amazon sometimes runs promo code offers or other deals that give you 15% off for a specific category or type of purchase. For example, there was a 15% off qualifying purchases offer on Amazon Australia which ran from August 2024 to January 2025.

There is also a 15% Baby Registry Completion Discount, which you can use if you’re an Amazon Prime member and have created Baby Wishlist and have remaining items on it that are sold and shipped by Amazon Australia. You can also get a discount of 10% if you’re not a Prime member and meet the offer conditions.

Something that’s really important to note about Amazon is that the Australian shop is different to the American one. We’ve seem some pretty enticing offers out there that unfortunately are only available on the US site. So, if you see any offers that aren’t listed here, make sure they’re for the correct website.

Does Amazon offer free shipping?

If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you’ll get free shipping on all qualifying orders (which has been almost all of mine). Otherwise, Amazon provides free shipping within Australia for eligible orders over $59.

Amazon shopping basics: Shipping, returns and more

If you’re new to shopping with Amazon Australia, or have come across a situation that’s a bit different, sometimes it’s hard to find the exact information you need. So here, I’ve put together key details based on my research and personal experiences shopping with Amazon.

Shipping costs

Standard delivery costs: If you’re not an Amazon Prime member or have an order that doesn’t qualify for free delivery, pricing typically starts from $7.99 depending on your location and order.
Third-party seller deliveries: Some purchases are shipped directly from the seller so may not be able to be delivered free of charge.
Amazon Global Store: If your items are coming from an Amazon store overseas, you’ll see shipping prices and details listed at the checkout, as these products are dispatched and sold by specific Amazon entities.

Delivery times

Same day delivery: Available for select postcodes in metro Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, if orders are placed before the cut-off time. When it’s available, you’ll find it listed on the product page and/or at the checkout.
Express delivery: You can get your order within a couple of business days with express delivery options, with details and pricing shown on the product pages.
Expedited delivery: Prime members enjoy expedited delivery with no minimum spend, except in select remote areas.

To give you a bit more of an idea, I’ve always been impressed with the speed of Amazon Australia deliveries. I live in a regional area and some orders have come the next day. Even an order I recently placed that shipped from Amazon UK arrived within 7 business days – and well before the estimated delivery date. But you can track your order through your Amazon account and report any issues there too.

Who delivers Amazon packages in Australia?

Amazon Logistics is the Australian store’s own carrier but it also works with a number of partners including Australia Post, Aramex and DHL. You’ll get details of the carrier when you’re placing your order and can track it from your account.

I think I’ve had deliveries from all of these carriers over the past few years without any major issues. There was just one delivery that was sent to the wrong address, but it was quickly fixed by the carrier after I reported it through my Amazon account.

Click and collect options

Amazon offers some click and collect services through Pickup Locations like Amazon Lockers, Counters, ParcelPoint and PO Boxes.

During checkout, select a nearby Pickup Location, choose your delivery option, provide your name for identification, complete your order and await an email notification for collection. Present a valid photo ID matching the name provided during checkout to collect your package.

Amazon returns

Amazon offers free returns for most unused and unopened items fulfilled by Amazon Australia or Amazon Global. You’re eligible if you’ve purchased your items within 30 days of delivery.

However, if your items weren’t shipped for free, original shipping fees are not refunded for change of mind returns. Return shipping fees may apply unless the item is eligible for free returns. And if it’s from a third-party seller, there may be other return policies in place. So it’s best to login to your Amazon account and go to the “Returns” section to get details on what’s available.

Amazon payment options

Amazon asks you to add a debit or credit card to your account, and you can add more than one if you want to choose how you pay. I find this handy for the Amazon Prime account I share with my husband, because it means I can use my own card when I’m buying something just for me.

Amazon has something for every area of the home and beyond – here’s how to shop and save on what you want

From robot vacuums and walking pads to mattress toppers, cleaning tools and even paper towel, Amazon Australia pretty much has everything you could ever imagine. I actually just discovered fresh fruit, veges and other groceries from Harris Farm Markets are available for select postcodes around Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Canberra –with up to 25% off for Amazon Prime Day.

This fits with insights Amazon Australia’s Duncan Fredericks shared around what Aussies buy during the sales.

“Some of our best sellers every year for Prime Day are maybe not the ones you’d expect, things like toilet paper, your dishwashing tablets, your laundry detergent, on top of those bigger ticket items,” he says.

So far, I’ve seen up to 49% off air fryers, as well as several top-rated robot vacuums for 70% off (or more), including from Dreame, Roborock and ECOVACS. The latter two also had promo codes for 5% off in the app, which added to the savings.

But between sales, flash deals, promo codes and the sheer volume of products on Amazon, I know it’s sometimes hard to find just what you want. So make it easier, here we’ve rounded up the best current Amazon promo codes, offers and deals you can save with now.
