Here’s how

Step 1

Step 1

Use a tape measure to find the width of your front door, then transfer measurement
to the door seal using a carpenter’s pencil.

Step 2

Step 2

Sit door seal on scrap timber and use an angle grinder to cut to length.

Step 3

Measure up from base of door and draw a line where the top of the door seal will go.

Step 4

Step 4

Attach door stop cam to latch side of jamb, then attach door seal to door on the marked line using supplied screws.

Expert tips to keep your home warm

keep warm
  • In winter, help retain heat by switching your light summer drapes to a heavier fabric.
  • A draught stopper – or door snake as they are called – can stop cold air sneaking in under the door or hot air escaping.
  • Seal exterior doors and windows with self-adhesive weather stripping to reduce draughts, dust and insects.
  • Your ceiling fan direction in summer should be anticlockwise for a downdraft, which creates that direct, cooling breeze. Your fan direction in winter needs to be clockwise to create an updraft and circulate warm air around the room.
  • Winter means heaters, so be fire safe. Get an extinguisher and fire blanket, and make sure smoke detectors are working properly.
