We know that plants respond to the kind of music you play them, but now it turns out, plants can play music to you.
Introducing PlantWave, a device that turns a plant’s biorhythms into music. It detects slight electrical variations in a plant with two sensors placed on leaves. The app translates the waves into “pitch messages”, or “notes that are routed to play instruments”.

According to PlantWaves’s Kickstarter site, the result is a “continuous stream of pleasing music that gives you a sonic window into the secret life of plants.”

The device has Wifi, Bluetooth and USB connectivity built into it so you can wirelessly connect from your plant to your phone.
PlantWave uses report “feeling more relaxed, connected and inspired after listening to plants,” and it’s most commonly used for meditation and relaxation.

So the next time you’re wondering what your fiddleleaf fig has to say, connect your sensors and find out.
You can buy PlantWave for US$220 (AU$322.65) here.
