This suburb of Melbourne was once thought of as a semi-industrial hub, known more for its warehouses, factories and workshops than its residential housing. However, it’s recently emerged as one of Melbourne’s most desirable cultural destinations. Join Adam and Pete in getting to know this rejuvenated suburb, with its dining options, trendy bars and hidden gems and see if it might be right for you, whether you’re buying or renting.

Inner-city living used to be considered less than ideal, but what was once considered undesirable has now become highly desirable. West End in Brisbane is just such a place. It’s seeing a boom in a well-rounded lifestyle that a lot of young families are choosing to take up. After a short City Cat ferry ride from the CBD, Pete takes a sticky-beak into a traditional weatherboard “Queenslander” to get an idea of the type of housing the suburb offers. While there are many links to the past, the suburb has really modernised, with many of Brisbane’s best cafés and restaurants, making this an ideal place for a contemporary lifestyle.
