Watch: How to organise your linen cupboard
Lavender scented pouches are an amazing addition to any wardrobe or linen cupboard for quite a few reasons.
While the scent of lavender is calming and beautiful for your sheets and towels, it is also a great deterrent for pests that like living in dark, warm spots in your house. Lavender essential oils can actually repel moths and silverfish, and protect your linens from being eaten away while they’re not in use. Adding in a scented pouch to your cupboard and drawers might seem too simple, but it can work wonders for your linen press.
Let’s learn how to make a lavender scented pouch in just a few easy steps:

Step 6
Repeat Steps 1-5 for additional pouches. The essential oils in these décor-friendly refreshers will repel pesky pests and make you smile each time you open the cupboard.
What material is best for lavender pouches?
The best materials to use for making lavender pouches are either cotton or linen. This is because they are breathable and light, meaning that the scent of the lavender can easily pass through and keep your wardrobe fresh for longer.
Can you use fresh lavender for sachets?
You can use fresh lavender for sachets, however it is not recommended, as fresh flowers tend to mould easily. The best way to include lavender in your scented pouches is with dried versions or lavender essential oils.
How long will dried lavender smell last?
Dried lavender is much more potent than you think, and can actually emit a scent for up to ten years. If your lavender scented pouch loses it’s smell too quickly, you may not have included enough dried flowers or drops of essential oil.
