How to crochet a Freddie Mercury doll

The perfect present for that tricky person.
Janine Holmes

There’s always that one person on your Christmas list who seems impossible to buy for, and who seemingly has it all – but how about a crochet Freddie Mercury doll? If you’re handy with a crochet hook, you can whip up your very own Freddie for that special someone – and the pattern is available to download for free.

The brainchild of Janine Holmes of Moji-Moji Design, the doll features Freddie’s trademark mustache, hairy chest and yellow jacket.

According to Open Culture, Janine hopes that those who download the free pattern consider donating to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, “a charity that bandmates Brian May and Roger Taylor and Queen manager Jim Beach founded to fight HIV/AIDS worldwide.”

Janine invites makers to share their own crochet Freddie creations on her Facebook page.

If you’re a fan of amigurumi, head to Janine’s Etsy page to shop all of her crochet creations.
