Chilly nights on the sofa are far more enjoyable with a comfy cosy blanket to cuddle. Worked in two mitred panels that are joined when knitting is complete, this vibrant blanket pattern looks complicated, yet it is incredibly easy to master.

For this blanket, you’ll need 5 balls of budget-friendly Panda Crypto 8 ply in Rose Garden and an 4.5mm circular knitting needle to accommodate the number of stitches.
It’s important to note that this throw is worked on larger needles than typically recommended for this yarn, giving it a unique drape and feel.
Aspect knitting blanket pattern
You’ll knit two mitred panels using the 4.5mm circular needle. The circular needle allows for easy handling of a large number of stitches, and you’ll work back and forth in rows. The mitred pattern creates an eye-catching design that gradually expands, resulting in a visually striking centrepiece.
Once you’ve completed the mitred panels, it’s time to add side borders to join them together. You’ll seamlessly connect the panels by using the mattress stitch and following the assembly diagram. Then, with the right side facing, you’ll knit up stitches evenly across the end of one panel and the side edge of the other panel to create the side borders. These borders add a finishing touch to the blanket, enhancing its overall aesthetic.
Finally, you’ll knit up stitches along the side edge of the panel and side borders to create the upper and lower borders. This additional detail adds a polished look to the blanket, completing its timeless appeal.
