Painting your front door in this colour will increase the value of your home

Giving your front door a new lick of paint is always a good idea when you’re about to put your house on the market.

Not only will it improve your home’s curb appeal, it could potentially increase the sale price of your home.

That’s according to US real estate search site Zillow, which examined 135,000 photos from homes sold around the U.S to see if certain paint colours had an impact on the sales price.

The study revealed that painting your front door black or charcoal grey can increase your sale price by US$6000 (AUD$8000).

While the study isn’t local, exteriors in black and grey are trending in Australian homes.  

It’s potentially a massive return on what’s a small investment in your time – and a pot of paint!
