Kyal and Kara have been renovating homes for over a decade, starting when they transformed their first home on the NSW Central Coast in 2008. Fast forward to now and the serial renovators are embarking on a very different challenge.

What they have in store isn’t a typical home renovation. Rather, they’re taking on a smaller, yet equally ambitious task: a caravan renovation!

For this bold venture, they’re teaming up with Lotus Caravans to take their expertise on the road.

The best part? Once the caravan renovation is complete, they’ll be heading off on an epic Aussie road trip.

“This one has been in the works for a while… but the timing hasn’t been right until now,” they said on their website. “As you can imagine, a caravan build is completely different to a home renovation or new build, and we’ve been deep in the vortex of all things touring and travel planning.”

To get caravan-ready, Kyal and Kara visited Lotus Caravans HQ in Melbourne. They got a sneak peek at the caravan builds in progress, and a chance to see what they’d like for their own caravan.

“This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to share more with you all very soon,” they said.

Stay tuned for more updates on their luxe caravan build. If their home renos are anything to go off, this one will be next level.

Who are Kyal and Kara?

Kyal and Kara appeared on The Block in 2014, where they were dubbed the “Super K’s”. They became fan favourites and took third place, winning $567,250 at auction.

In 2015, they starred in the first season of Renovation Rumble where they competed against other fan favourites across renovation TV. They were eliminated in the fifth week, but not before impressing everyone with their strong design skills and attention to detail, creating a standout kitchen in their final week on the show.

With their winnings from The Block, they bought a new house and began their own renovation business, which has become a major success.

In the past five years, they’ve project-managed, designed and completed 35 renovations. They also had their own TV show, Blue Lagoon Build on 9Life, which followed the construction of the dream family beach house on the NSW Central Coast. They have also just finished shooting their fourth season of Bay Builds, completing two stunning side-by-side homes at Long Jetty on the Central Coast of NSW.

Together, they have created some incredible homes across New South Wales. A property in Long Jetty, which was bought for $710,000, sold for $1.59 million after they gave it a major facelift. Crazy!

Another successful rebuild was a Killarney Vale fibro shack, which they renovated and sold for $735,000, exceeding the street record at the time.
