Are you the kind of person that puts passports and valuables in the hotel safe? Are you also the kind of person who forgets the stuff you put in the safe? Then we have the hack for you.
Although hotel safes do have their flaws, it’s usually the safest place in the room to store passports, cash, jewellery and other valuables when you’re out and about exploring a new city. However, if you have an early flight the next morning, or are prone to sleeping in, then trying to get out of the hotel on time can result in things being left behind in the safe (and other places!).
How to do it
The key to remembering those things hidden away in the safe is this: Decide on the pair of shoes you plan to wear when you depart. Take one of those shoes and put them in the safe with your valuables. That way, when you’re stomping around the room looking for your other shoe – you’ll remember it’s in the safe with all the other valuables!
Alternatively, why not try leaving something else integral to your morning routine in the safe? That could be a hairbrush, hair straightener, a tube of toothpaste or other mundane thing that you simply can’t do without each morning. That way, you’ll always have to go to the safe to get it (and everything else) out!
You’ll never leave things behind again!
