Plane seats in economy are not comfortable. They’re narrow, the back is too straight and there’s barely any leg room. However, an airline close to home is now providing a new kind of seating to economy passengers: the Skycouch.
The Skycouch concept has been around for a while now, with many airlines offering similar seating arrangements. The couch is designed to allow customers to kick back and relax on their Air New Zealand flight, and if you would like to use the Skycouch then you’ll need to reserve an entire row of economy seats that have built-in seat extenders, which can be raised to form a bed/couch hybrid type of seating.
The Air New Zealand Skycouch can be used by a couple looking for more room to relax, parents travelling with young children who require room to play or for kids to nap, or maybe just for the solo traveller who wants to sleep on a long-haul flight. And you’ll never have to share the seating arrangement with another passenger.
You can add Economy Skycouch to an economy fare when booking long haul flights online. If the option is available you’ll see ‘Skycouch available’ beneath the price, and costs and details will become visible when you select your seats.
