Crafters wanted! 6 charities taking donations for knitted goods this winter

Do you knit?

There are many benefits to knitting including stress relief.

Not only that, but hand-knit items make thoughtful gifts for friends and loved ones, and many knitters also like to donate their creations to charitable organisations.

If you’re interested in knitting for charity, you’re in the right place.

Knitting for charity: Where can I send knitted items?

You can send knitted items for charity to various organisations, including local shelters, nursing homes, or specific charity organisations that accept handmade donations.

For hospitals, you can knit items that comfort patients, such as baby blankets, preemie hats, or lap blankets for elderly patients. Additionally, you can consider knitting sensory items like textured squares or toys for patients with dementia or sensory processing issues. To ensure your items end up in the right hands, it’s always a good idea to check with the hospital or specific departments to see if they have particular donor needs or guidelines.

To help you get started, here are six charities currently accepting knitted goods.
