How to make a show-stopping wreath for Christmas

Christmas and handmade go hand in hand, it’s the perfect time of year to get crafty and try out new tricks. Nothing says Christmas like a lush hanging wreath. Why not make it yourself!

Here are a few tips to get you started:

1. Start with a sturdy base

You will find lots of great faux green wreaths to buy that you can add your final touches to. The other option would be to purchase a bare monkey vine wreath to add fresh foliage to.

2. Pick your theme

The options are endless! Do you love over the top baubles, fresh Christmas bush, lush all over green foliage, cute adornments such as cinnamon and fruits or a simple ribbon bow?

3. Assembly

To add your bits and pieces to your wreath use floristry wire. Twist and secure your adornments to the wreath. Decide where the top is and map out where you want to place your decorations.

Start at the bottom centre and work your way around the wreath. Stand back and look at your wreath as you place bits and pieces on it to check you are happy with the layout.

4. Ready to hang

Hold your wreath up right and make sure all your decorations are secure and sitting right. Once you are happy hang it up!
