It’s amazing how kids’ artwork can pile up at home. While it’s tempting to hang on to every scribble, it’s hard to keep track of stacks of paper and they can take up valuable storage space.
The solution? Embroider your child’s drawings and transform them into keepsake works of art.
It’s easy to make a stitched artwork from your child’s drawings. Here’s how:
1. Choose a drawing and sticky-tape it to a bright window.
2. Now take a piece of fabric and position it over the top of the drawing.
3. Tape the fabric to the window.
4. Use a pencil to trace the drawing on to the fabric.
5. Place the fabric in an embroidery hoop to stitch it. You can always enlarge the drawing on a photocopier for a bigger artwork – just make sure you have an embroidery hoop that fits.
6. Refer to your child’s original drawing for the correct colours and details.
