Sundews (Drosera sp.) are small perennials that are easy to grow. The sundew family includes many species native to Australia. Some species have rosettelike shapes, while others look more like a tangle of stems – but all are covered in fine hairs with sticky dew-like droplets that attract, and trap, insects.

How do I grow them?

In pots in a position with plenty of sun, and keep plants damp to wet. Choose a species that suits your climate – there are sundews native to climates varying from tropical swamps to cold and frosty areas. And with so many Australian species, these are the best options to choose.
