Kmart’s $199 15.6-inch Digital Family Calendar sold out within minutes during their Black Friday sale this week.
The device — which syncs with your phone, displays shared family schedules and doubles as a digital photo frame — vanished so quickly that even customers who paid for early access to Kmart’s sale missed out.
The sell-out has sparked frustration across social media, with many questioning how the stock disappeared so quickly.
“I paid for the early access and everything and was online at 7 pm QLD time,” one shopper wrote online. “It took a while to add to the bag, but at 7:01 pm, I went to pay, and it said unavailable. Are ya kidding?”
“Absolutely no way this sold out in less than a minute.”
Another person added: “What’s going on? I purchased in the presale, and it got refunded.”

If you missed out, don’t stress — here are five alternatives available right now in the Black Friday sales.

How do these compare to Kmart’s digital calendar?
While Kmart’s 15.6-inch calendar offered incredible value at $199, it wasn’t necessarily the best — just the most affordable big-screen option.
If you want something compact:
The Dragon Touch and BIGASUO 10.1-inch models do almost everything Kmart’s version does, but in a smaller, bench-friendly size. Perfect for apartments or renters.
If you want a premium version of Kmart’s:
The Skylight Smart Family Calendar is the closest match — same concept, similar layout, bigger app ecosystem and more advanced scheduling tools.
If you want a digital calendar and smart-home hub:
Echo Show 15 goes beyond Kmart’s model with widgets, Alexa, streaming, home control and more. It’s a complete smart display, not just a planner.
If you want something stylish for the living room:
FotoStream offers the same 15.6-inch screen size with a more refined look and superior photo display capabilities.
