From foolproof scrambled eggs and fluffy pancakes to crispy-skinned fish and one-pan chicken dinners, stovetop cooking is a lot easier if you’re using one of the best non-stick frying pans on the market.
While you might already have a non-stick fry pan in your cookware collection, the non-stick coating is likely to wear down eventually, chips may appear, or the pan itself might become warped. And as anyone who has tried cooking with a worn-out non-stick fry pan knows, the process is very slow and a tad frustrating, even if your meals are coming out fine.
To avoid the hassle and keep weeknight dinners as effortless as possible, it’s best to invest in high-quality cookware or add a backup pan to your collection. And luckily, we’ve rounded up all the best non-stick fry pans of 2026 to save you the trouble.
Better Homes and Gardens recommends:

Misen Carbon Non-stick Frying Pan
from $184, Misen
Best for: everyday cooking and durability
Despite having only launched in April of last year, Misen‘s innovative, non-coated and non-stick pans have created a huge buzz around the world, with many people saying they plan to ditch Teflon-style non-stick pans for them. In fact, they’ve already amassed an impressive 4.9-star rating and over 1,490 reviews on their website for this pan alone.
Unlike other naturally non-stick pans made from stainless steel, cast iron or even carbon steel, which typically need to be seasoned before use and then regularly, Misen’s Carbon Nonstick range has a nitrided carbon steel body, created by heating and hardening the carbon steel in a nitrogen-rich oven. So it’s non-stick straight out of the box, builds up more seasoning over time and doesn’t need as much maintenance.
It’s also lighter than most carbon steel pans, thanks to an aluminium core, can be heated to very high temperatures of up to 593°C, and after using them for a while, you can also cook with acidic foods like lemons, tomatoes and wine.
“These pans truly combine non-stick and non-scratch, and they heat up fast and have a very even heat distribution. They also clean up very easily and require very little maintenance other than a thin coat of high smoke point, neutral oil every so often. If you cook with enough fat, you don’t even really need to keep conditioning the pan. They are remarkable,” one customer shared in their 5-star review.
Key features:
- Materials: Nitrite carbon steel body, aluminium core, no coating
- Sizes: 20cm, 25cm, and 30cm
- Oven Safe: Yes
- Induction Safe: Yes
- Dishwasher Safe: No
- Warranty: Lifetime warranty
- Light weight
- Suitable for use with metal utensils

Solidteknics AUS-ION Fry Pan
$259.95, Solidteknics
Best for: a multi-generation warranty
Australian company Solidteknics has designed this fry pan to last, with a multi-generation warranty. It’s made from a single sheet of clean iron and pre-seasoned with non-GMO rice bran oil to help build up the non-stick coating that naturally develops on cast iron pans. Suitable for all cooktops, as well as ovens, pizza ovens, bbqs and firepits, the generous 30cm size also makes it ideal for family cooking.
Better Homes and Gardens Shopping Writer, Amy Bradney-George, put this model to the test in her own kitchen and hasn’t looked back since. She writes:
“The natural non-stick properties take a bit of getting used to; you need to wait for things to “release” from the pan, but the fact that it’s pre-seasoned meant I could start using it straight away. I cooked for both sides of my family on it over the holidays, and it was so much better than the non-stick coated pan we have. I’m now eyeing off this bigger pan and the Solidteknics AUS-ION wok, which is at the top of my kitchen wishlist.”
– Amy Bradney George, BHG Shopping Writer

How to choose the best non-stick fry pan for your cooking needs
Different pans suit different cooking styles and cooks, so there isn’t one ‘best’ non-stick pan to rule them all. But you can find the best option (or options) for your kitchen by considering these details:
1. The type of non-stick surface
In broad terms, there are two main types of non-stick fry pans: coated and non-coated or naturally non-stick.
Coated non-stick fry pans
The best-known are Teflon and Teflon-like non-stick pans coated with PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), a synthetic mix of chemicals that creates a slippery non-stick surface. When used at moderate heats, with non-metal utensils and handwashing, these types of pans can be very effective for keeping foods from sticking. But PTFE has been linked to health issues, including polymer fume fever, and the coating may wear off or be damaged over time.
Fortunately, there is a growing number of non-stick pans that are free from PTFE, as brands innovate and develop new coatings. This includes ceramic coatings (also very well established), which can also be less likely to flake or scratch.
Non-coated non-stick fry pans
These pans have natural non-stick properties and are typically made from fewer materials or a single type of metal. This includes stainless steel, cast iron, wrought iron and carbon steel. These pans tend to be heavier, more durable and long-lasting, with some having lifetime warranties.
Most naturally non-stick fry pans need to be seasoned before use, and also become more non-stick over time. They may need a bit more oil or butter when you’re first cooking with them, until the seasoning has built up.
2. The size of the pan
Something I learned about non-stick fry pans when I bought my wrought iron one is that the size of the heat source really matters. You may already know this, but investing in a naturally non-stick pan sent me on a research mission to find out more. Basically, having a heat element that’s too big or too small can warp the pan. So it’s worth checking what size elements your stove has, or the size of your current pan, to make sure your new one (or set) stays at its best for as long as possible.
3. How much you’re willing to spend
The best non-stick fry pan should be affordable, and there are options here from under $10 to over $300. As a basic guide, inexpensive options are often suited to people who want a pan that just ‘gets the job done’ – especially if you’re not looking to use a dishwasher or oven. While more expensive pans tend to be more versatile and long-lasting.
What you need to know before buying a non-stick fry pan
Like any traditional fry pan, a non-stick fry pan should be safe to use as long as you don’t exceed the temperature recommendations and it’s in good condition. If there’s a non-stick coating that’s scratched or damaged, or if the pan is warped, consider replacing it.
The best non-stick pans come with detailed instructions for washing and care, so it’s important to follow them for optimal performance (and warranty coverage). But as a general guide, you’ll find some non-stick pans that are dishwasher safe, others that require very gentle hand-washing and – in the case of cast iron, steel and other pans with natural non-stick properties (rather than a non-stick coating) – a rinse, wipe-down and light oiling to re-season the pan is usually recommended.
Washing, cooking utensils and storage are three key details to keep in mind for your non-stick fry pan. Most pans will come with care details that are specific to them. But to give you a basic idea, gentle cleaning, non-metal utensils and dry storage areas are often recommended for non-stick frying pans.
Another quick, 30-second (or less) care tip is to check the size of your burner or hob is as close to the size of for the non-stick pan so that you can get perfect, even cooking. It’s particularly important to avoid a heating element or gas burner that’s too small for the frying pan, as it could warp the base (we learned that the hard way!).
Depending on the non-stick surface of the pan, you may need to avoid metal utensils when cooking with them so that the coating doesn’t get scratched and/or the pan doesn’t get damaged. But some pans are designed so you can safely use metal utensils, such as the Le Creuset toughened non-stick PRO fry pan we included in our top picks, so just check these details before using a new pan.
