Beloved brand Koala has one of its biggest sales of the year for Black Friday, with up to 30 per cent off across the site. When it comes to sofas, most of the available discounts I found ranged from 15 to 25 per cent but you can get 30 per cent of some of the luxe sofa beds.
Tip: If you’re dreaming of a Koala sofa or sofa bed, get in quick – I’ve already spotted sold out designs and lounge options so there’s no guarantee these deals will last.

Three tips to choose a sofa in the Black Friday sales
With so many great deals, it can be easy to get swept up in the hype around Black Friday. So, here’s what to keep in mind to help you choose a sofa you’ll enjoy long after the sales have ended.
- Check the measurements: This will help you make sure the sofa you buy isn’t too small or too big for your space. (I almost convinced myself to get a modular 5-seater before realising it wouldn’t fit in my lounge room).
- Factor in delivery costs and times: While some stores offer free delivery, I’ve noticed furniture stores are more likely to charge fees because the items are bulky. So it’s worth checking and factoring in the cost – as well as extra time for delivery while it’s peak sale season. While you’re at it, check the return policy (just in case).
- Buy what you want when you find it: Sale prices may only be available while stock lasts, and I’ve seen some popular sofa models sell out both this year and last Black Friday. So if you find a sofa you want at a price you like, it’s a good idea to get it while you can (or wait til next time).
