If you’ve been waiting for a sale to upgrade your washing machine, Black Friday could give you a chance to save on both the ticket price of your new washer – and your future energy bills.
A huge range of washing machines now offer more energy efficient features that help keep running costs down. One example that’s on sale now is the Samsung Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo washer and dryer, which can save up to 60 per cent in energy usage – and is around 60 per cent off right now. That’s a huge saving of $1500 on the retail price, plus likely ongoing savings thanks to efficient design features, including AI.
“A practical benefit of AI is the ability to track and reduce energy across home appliances. For example, with the Samsung Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo washing machine, AI Opti Wash and AI Energy Mode features use up to 60% less energy during wash cycles by recognising the fabric types in your load, identifying the level of soilage in your clothes, and recommending the best washing cycle,” says Phil Gault, the director for consumer electronics at Samsung Australia.
“That is real money a busy family could use back in their weekly budget with a reduced mental load as the cherry on top.”
Phil Gault, Director – Consumer Electronics, Samsung Australia

But with the official date for Black Friday (November 28) still weeks away, there’s a good chance some of these deals won’t last. Is Black Friday a good time to buy a washing machine?
Black Friday is now the biggest sale event of the year in Australia, which means it is a great time to get a deal on a washing machine or just about anything else. In the past, I’ve seen some appliances for more than 60 per rent off their recommended retail price. But even a 20 per cent discount can make a difference to big-ticket items like washing machines.
While Black Friday is officially on the last Friday in November (the 28th this year), plenty of sales have already started. So if you see a washing machine deal you want, it’s a good idea to get it rather than risk stock selling out.
