Once known as the Queen of the Skies, Singapore Airlines haven’t won the Skytrax title of World’s Best Airline since 2008. This year, after undergoing a revamp, the airline has beat out fan-favourites Emirates and Qatar as the World’s Best Airline, also securing the top spots for Best First Class and Best First Class Airline Seat.
The Skytrax ranking awards are based on the reviews of 20.36 million travellers from more than 100 countries, covering more than 335 different airlines between August 2017 and May 2018. The awards measure 49 parameters including boarding procedures, quality of service and seat comfort. Singapore Airlines also topped the Word’s Best Airlines list by Tripadvisor in March.
Yeoh Phee Teik, the Vice President of Customer Experience at Singapore Airlines told CNN, “I think we can attribute this to the hardworking team, which has continued to elevate the customer experience. We’re glad that our work has been recognised and our customers have voted for us to be the world’s best.”
