Although there are endless international travel sales around right now, 2020 should be the year you plan to holiday at home.
Respected travel resource Lonely Planet has released the Best in Travel 2020 list, and the only Australian destination to appear in the Top 10 Regions to visit in 2020 – coming in at fifth place – is Lord Howe Island, located off the north coast of NSW.
Lord Howe Island is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed destination, and Lonely Planet praised the island, claiming it was not only a nature-lover’s paradise but an example of sustainably-managed tourism.
Lord How Island is home to captivating green landscapes, a pristine lagoon, beautiful beach and delightful hiking trails. The island also only allows 400 people on the island at any given time, which means there’s no chance of over-crowding and a high chance of having the natural wonder of Mt Gower all to yourself, should you choose to visit.
