Forget the Monaco Grand Prix, the New York Marathon and the Kentucky Derby, the world’s most competitive and high-flying race has got to be the Birdman Rally, in Melbourne…well, depending on your definition. Part of the annual Moomba Festival, the rally is a chance for everyday Melburnians to create their own homemade flying machines, dress to impress and hurtle themselves over the Yarra. It’s all in the name of charity and this week, Adam’s popping into Kingswood College, in Melbourne’s east, to check out their impressive entry and to find out more about the race.
