Are you looking for a fresh new way to personalise your licence plates? Well, do we have good news for you! Queensland has just become the first state in Australia to allow emojis to be used on licence plates.
Personalised Plates Queensland are planning to roll out their new emoji-adorned plates from March 1st, 2019, and the plates with emojis will cost between $160 and $500.
Unfortunately, this new development does not include any and all emojis. To begin with you can choose from the laughing/crying face, winky face, sunglasses face, the face with hearts for eyes and the classic smiley face. You also won’t be able to replace all letters or number with emojis, either.
The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland spokeswomen Rebecca Michael told 7News Brisbane that “For quite some time we’ve seen that you can support your favourite team or your favourite town with a symbol on your number plate, and using an emoji is no different.”
According to the Personalised Plates Queensland, this is what you can mix 3 letters and 2 numbers to make 5 characters in total. There are standard and slimline size plates in white on black, and there are 5 different designs available.
