Doin’ it for the rural Aussie kids

They've helped over 1000 rural and regional kids already!

The past few years have been tough for all of us, but for Aussie farming families, the word ‘tough’ doesn’t really cover it. Droughts, bushfires, floods, mouse plagues and, of course, the Covid pandemic, have all had a huge impact on rural lives and businesses… not to mention young kids.

This week, Johanna is meeting an inspiring couple who decided to do their bit to help out. Country singer Jason Owen and his partner, Becy, grew up in the Central West of NSW and know all too well how hard life as a farming family can be. Their organization, Doin it for Rural Aussie Kids, provides toys, groceries and funds to isolated rural and regional children in the lead up to Christmas each year.

Having helped over 1000 families so far, Jason and Bec are about to hit the road again, buying and wrapping presents, and filling Santa sacks to the brim.
