Most people use Instagram to follow accounts that inspire them, such as interior accounts managed by stylists or fashion accounts by models. However, the rise of satirical social content and accounts that take the mickey out of people have seen the likes of Celeste Barber and Kmart Unhacks and Roasts develop massive followings online.
Until now, interior design has been blissfully immune to this phenomena, but it seems that someone has been able to roundup the world’s ugliest homes and turn them into an Instagram feed.
Please Hate These Things is an Instagram account with more than 213,000 followers. Self-described as “absurd, ugly and just plain stupid things in home design” the account insists that the best part of the account isn’t the pictures of questionable interior and furniture decisions – it’s the comments section.
Better yet, you can even send in pictures you find of unsatisfactory interior design and send it in for inclusion. Check out some of the pictures below, which include a yellow-themed bathroom, bags used as a ceiling feature, a mirror-mishap and a toilet with walls and floor carpeted with a thick floral pile. The feed also includes questionable property-for-sale pictures, hideous furniture and hilarious floorplans.
