It’s home to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Rinnoji Temple, and the surrounding gardens are a truly exquisite example of traditional Japanese design. In Nikko, you’ll also find a 400-year-old Samurai house and garden, which was turned into a hotel at the end of the 19th century.
