The reimagined island paradise you need to visit this year!

BHG gets a sneak peek at the new-look Hayman Island by InterContinental

Those craving the ultimate island adventure this year should get ready to pack their bags.

Two years after being devastated by Tropical Cyclone Debbie, Queensland’s Hayman Island will finally re-open in July offering a unique take on immersive luxury.

Hailed as one of the most highly anticipated openings of the year, the 400-hectare private island resort, located at the northern tip of the Whitsunday Islands and managed by the InterContinental Hotels Group, will open its doors on July 1 following a multi-million dollar refurbishment.

With the Coral Sea on one side and lush tropical rainforest on the other, the new-look property will boast 166 accommodation options – from suites and beachfront villas to lagoon rooms and the exclusive new Beach House – five new bars and restaurants, a luxurious new spa and a slew of on-island adventures from secluded beach coves and jet ski adventures, to seaplane rides boasting views of the Great Barrier Reef.

As well as the lashings of luxury we’d expect from the InterContinental, the island resort will also cater to discerning travellers who are seeking immersive and meaningful local experiences.

Luxurious it may be but the good news is; children will be welcomed with open arms when they step off their luxury vessel, helicopter or seaplane, with a host of experiences available for families.

There will also be world-class kids’ club on site in case parents need a cheeky few hours of solo pool time.
