Everyone loves a holiday. Whether you enjoy holidaying at home and exploring all the beautiful landscapes that Australia has to offer, or prefer jetting off to faraway lands and experiencing new culture – we can all agree on one thing: holidays are the best.
There are few things more exciting than researching potential holiday destinations. In fact, BHG have even created a guide to getting the most holidays out of your annual leave in 2020, so you can maximise your time away from work. This year, Airbnb have pulled together a list of the top 20 holiday destinations for 2020, and one unlikely Australian town has made it almost to the top of the list.
The Airbnb ranking is based on the booking sites most popular destinations, and internal data was then analysed for the cities booked by its users for upcoming trips in 2020 and compared to popular destinations heavily booked at the same time last year. Airbnb discovered that adventurers are traveling further off the beaten path and investigating lesser-known destinations.
The only Australian location to make the list (in fourth place, at that) was Sunbury in Victoria. The township is just a short drive north-west of Melbourne’s CBD, and is home to excellent restaurants, wineries and is known as the birthplace of the Ashes. Milwaukee in Wisconsin, USA took out top place.
