Channel 7 are bringing a brand new season of My Kitchen Rules in 2026, and it’s going to be full of delicious, wholesome, homecooked food, with a side of drama.

The competition this year is fierce, with four teams announced so far. They are ready to compete for the crown and win the prize money of $100,000. But it won’t be easy. Judges Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel have the bar set even higher this year, expecting flavours at the heart of home cooking.

Colin Fassnidge said: “See my hair is grey, thats this season of MKR. We’ve got some loose cannons this year. Two blonde loose cannons that Australia is not ready for.”

While we still don’t know the start date for the 2026 season of My Kitchen Rules, we can expect it to be sometime in September if last year was anything to go off.

Judges and co-hosts Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel are returning to MKR 2026 and they’re ready to taste and critique the dishes each team serves up.

Do MKR contestants use their own home?

Yes, the teams use their own homes for the filming of the ‘Instant Restaurant’ rounds, where each of them will host and cook their chosen 3-course menu for the judges and fellow teams. However, if their homes aren’t appropriate for filming, e.g too small or a difficult location, the production team will find another option, whether renting a house or using a friend’s or family member’s home.
