There’s a food stylist who isn’t afraid to share what she really thinks, two besties a.k.a classy bogans, a wholesome mother and daughter duo, and two best friends who work in the funeral business.

Sheridan and Ted
Mother and son from WA
Mother and son duo Sheridan and Ted are ready to gatecrash the competition, bringing plenty of banter and bickering to keep things fun.
“Ted loves experimenting with flavours and putting his own spin on dishes, while I prefer the technical side of cooking and baking. We’re very different in the kitchen, and that’s exactly what makes us such a strong team,” Sherisan said.

Zoe and Zac
Sassy friends from NSW
Sassy friends, Zoe and Zac have been besties for 15 years. They’re loud, competitive and always up for an adventure and they plan to take out the competition with their eyes closed.
“Zoe and I have done a lot together, so we thought, why not go on another crazy adventure? We love hosting dinner parties and cooking for family and friends, and we wanted to prove to ourselves and Australia that we have what it takes,” Zac said.

Harrison and Oliver
Hipster mates from NSW
Oliver and Harrison are ready to serve up food that’ll take everyone back in time. With their signature vintage aesthetic and eccentric edge, these two bring the vibes.
“We’re like two mad scientists. We trust each other and can swap roles in the kitchen effortlessly,” Oliver said.

Meet the original teams

Tiffany and Giancarlo
Love up couple from VIC
Tiffany and Giancarlo are a loved-up couple who have been together for 20 years. Giancarlo embraces his Italian heritage in the kitchen and has taught Tiffany how to cook, but according to Tiffany, the student has become the master.
“We balance each other well. When one of us is feeling pressure, the other steps up. We trust each other completely and genuinely enjoy cooking and working together,” Tiffany said.

Mary and Golden
Loveable nurses from VIC
In an MKR first, Mary and Golden will bring something new into your home – Filipino food. They dream of opening a food truck that travels to hospitals, offering late-night eats while showcasing Filipino street food to a wider Australian audience. Nurses by day and home cooks by night, they’re excited to share the flavours of their culture in their instant restaurant, ‘Aming Kusina’ which means Our Kitchen.
“Filipino food is underrated and deserves to be celebrated. We want to show that our food is made with love. Sharing our cuisine, culture and roots on MKR is our way of thanking Australia for giving us a new home,” Mary said.

Angus and Simon
Best mates from SA
Angus and Simon are best mates from South Australia, and they’re ready to bury their competition! Angus is a 5th-generation funeral director so you can expect plenty of puns and a dark sense of humour at their instant restaurant ‘Last Orders’.
“Simon and I love to joke around, and the kitchen is usually full of silliness. But we also love to compete, and when things start to fall apart, we switch into serious mode. Once we’re back through the danger zone, it’s back to laughs again. It’s a bit of a rollercoaster!” Angus said.

Krysten and Lucy
Mum and daughter from QLD
Farm foodies and mum-and-daughter duo, Krysten and Lucy, are welcoming Colin, Manu, and all the MKR teams to their gorgeous QLD farm. Surrounded by fresh food and animals, they’re excited to share their love for home cooking.
“”I wouldn’t do this with anyone else. Mum’s the best cook I know, and my best friend.””Mum inspired my passion for baking and love of food. Throughout my childhood, she made it clear that food is love and that’s how you show people you care,” Lucy said.

Alisha and Deanna
Classy bogans from SA
Best friends Alisha and Deanna may look fancy, but they aren’t. They love good, wholesome home cooking and they intend to bring it to their own instant restaurant. They may be clumsy and chaotic in the kitchen, but they cook from the heart and will never give up.
“We wanted to show our kids that if you’re given an opportunity and put your mind to it, you can do anything,” Alisha said.

Jane and Shane
Food stylist from NSW
Jane and Shane are a competitive team from NSW, and Jane – a food stylist – is eager to share her critique on everything. Jane is here to judge the food and the crockery, but when it comes to putting her money where her mouth is, will they show up at their instant restaurant?
“Shane and I often say that food and cooking are how we show our love for each other. For us, food is a journey, not just a destination,” Jane said.
