When you think of ‘make-up remover’, products such as Micellar water, Makeup Eraser, Face Halo and cleansing wipes spring to mind. However, it seems we might be throwing away our money when we could, in fact, be spending just $3 to get the same results.
In true millennial style, one adventurous young woman had her mind blown when she tried a makeup removing hack she found on the internet, then wrote about her experience and shared her story on Reddit.
It appears that the average dust-collecting microfibre cloth becomes a makeup-removing miracle if you just add a little bit of warm water, and wipe it across your face in gentle, circular motions.
The fabric used in microfibre cleaning cloths is the same as that used in reusable makeup removing cloths such as face Halo or Enjo, and as such it picks up particles of makeup and mascara just as easily as it remove dust and grease.

Posted in the LadyLifeHacks forum, one user said “Tried this for the first time today and I was so amazed! Goodbye loads of facewipes filling up landfill!”
Another user praises how gentle a microfibre cloth is on eyes and eye makeup.
“Totally works, and so much better for my sensitive eyes than eye makeup remover. 10/10 would avoid stinging.”
The best thing about this hack is that a pack of three microfibre cloths from Woolworths will set you back just $3 – and you can wash and reuse them over and over again – reducing your spend on beauty products and saving the environment from cleansing wipes!
That’s a win in our book!
