When an independent consumer report awards a sunscreen a perfect score of 100 for the fifth year in row, you can only imagine how good it must be. You’ll also want to know where you can get your hands on it.
According to Consumer Reports’ Annual Sunscreen Guide, you should be making a beeline for La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios Melt SPF 60.
The French dermatologist-recommended sunscreen outperformed 80 other products in the test.
La Roche-Posay says that the SPF is “fast absorbing with a velvety finish,” formulated with “a powerful antioxidant complex to help protect skin from free radicals caused by UV rays.”
La Roche’s product scored high points for its ability to “melt into the skin”. It was also noted that the sunscreen contained an active ingredient called avobenzone, which researchers have found to be more successful at blocking UVA and UVB rays than mineral sunscreens with ingredients like zinc oxide.
It also contains Baicalin, an antioxidant that fights free radicals on the surface of the skin.
The only catch? The product isn’t available in Australia. However, you can substitute it for a similar sunscreen by La Roche-Posay such as La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light SPF50+.
According to Adore Beauty, this liquid leaves no sign of residue behind, absorbing instantly, and it provides the highest in UVA/UVB sun protection available in Australia.
