How to make a natural mould remover spray

Don’t reach for the bleach next time you see mould. Instead use clove oil – which has antiseptic properties – to make a safe cleaner that kills the mould spores.

Gather your supplies

  • White vinegar
  • Distilled water
  • Glass spray bottle
  • Tea tree essential oil
  • Clove essential oil

You’ll also need

  • Measuring cups
  • Glass jug
  • Label
  • Microfibre cloth or paper towel

Here’s how

Measure 1/3 cup each of white vinegar and distilled water and pour into a glass jug.

Carefully pour the vinegar mixture into glass spray bottle.

Add 4 drops of tea tree essential oil to the bottle.

Add 10 drops of clove essential oil to the bottle.

Step 5

Replace trigger top and attach a label with the words ‘mould remover’ to bottle.

Step 6

Shake well before use. Spray mould remover directly onto affected areas, then leave to dry for at least an hour.

Spray again and gently wipe with a damp cloth or paper towel to remove mould. Rinse and wipe dry. Repeat if needed.
