IKEA has done it again.
ikea's new storage collection

IKEA just launched a whole new collection in Australia, and we want the lot. Think retro tins in soft colours, baskets with folk patterns, and bathroom cabinets with reeded glass that look surprisingly expensive.

Our favourite picks from Ikea’s new collection

Here’s what’s worth adding to your shopping list.

SÅGMÄSTARE storage cabinet

If you’re looking for a storage piece that doesn’t scream IKEA, this one’s worth a look. The light grey-blue metal and turned legs give it a bit of vintage charm, and the fluted bi-fold doors are a nice touch. At $149, it looks way pricier than it is.

In fact, customers are calling it their ‘favourite purchase of 2025.’ It could easily pass as a family heirloom rather than flat-pack furniture, which explains why it’s been flying off shelves.

Use it for everything – shoes in the entryway, hiding kitchen clutter, even as a sideboard. It’s only 36cm deep, so it fits in those awkward, narrow spots, and there’s enough space underneath for a couple of baskets.

If you like a bit of vintage style in your kitchen, these ribbed metal tins are a great pick. They come in soft pastels like pale blue and butter yellow, as well as classic silver, and you can choose from five different sizes, everything from coffee canisters to cookie tins.

They stack well with the lids on, and the price is pretty reasonable, too, starting at $4 for the silver.

OMMJÄNGE storage Basket, $59

Add the entire OMMJÄNGE series to your basket. Featuring bold patterns and warm colours inspired by old Swedish folklore, means everything has a bit of character.

There are decorative bowls, woven baskets, wooden benches with hidden storage, and even serving trays that double as organisers.

The OMMJÄNGE bowls, cups, and serving bowls deserve a special mention. The Ikea website says, each piece is created by a skilled glassblower, making the pattern on each item unique. Click, click, click.

Tired of bathroom storage that looks cheap? The MOSSJÖN range is for you. Featuring anthracite cabinets with reeded glass doors is a nice change. The fluted glass gives them a bit of texture and helps hide any mess inside.

You can get them as wall-mounted units or floor cabinets, and they look much more expensive than they actually are.

These glazed ceramic pots are meant for plants, but could double as handy vessels for organising all sorts of little things.

The earthy colours (beige and green-brown) look great, and the shapes are a bit quirky in a good way. They come in a few sizes, so you can use them for makeup brushes, pens, or even kitchen utensils if you want.

Or just buy more plants.

FLORSJÖN garbage bin $25

If your bathroom is short on space, the FLORSJÖN bathroom storage series might help. Starting with the wall-mounted bin, which comes in a beige colour (IKEA calls it ‘clay’ or ‘oat’). It’s easy to match, and the tilt-open waste bin is small enough to fit into tight corners.

There are also shelves with hooks, a toilet brush holder, and towel rails. The best part is you can put everything up with either screws or adhesive mounts, so you don’t have to drill into your tiles.

Ikea OMMJÄNGE bench with storage

If you’re struggling with hallway clutter and nowhere to sit while putting on shoes, IKEA’s OMMJÄNGE bench might be the answer to your problems – and at just $149, it won’t break the bank.

The textile weave detail elevates it beyond basic IKEA storage, and the solid pine construction means it should last for years.
