Aldi has issued urgent recalls for multiple Christmas chocolate products in the US and UK. The good news for Australian shoppers: the affected chocolates are not sold in Australian stores.
UK Aldi chocolate recall
In the UK, Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks (90g) have been recalled due to undeclared peanuts. All best-before dates with barcode 4061463276865 are affected. The Food Standards Agency issued a “do not eat” warning for anyone with a peanut allergy.
US Aldi chocolate recalls
In the US, two Choceur products have been pulled from shelves: Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark and Cookie Butter Holiday Bark. The recall was issued for undeclared wheat and pecan allergens.
The recall affects more than 24 states, including California, Texas, and Florida.

Why are so many Australian shoppers Googling Aldi’s chocolate recall
The confusion is understandable. When news of the UK and US recalls spread through social media and international news outlets, many Australians naturally wondered whether the same products were sold here.
However, Aldi operates independently in different countries with separate supply chains and manufacturers. The Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks recalled in the UK are produced by a different supplier than the Christmas chocolates stocked in Australian stores. Similarly, the Choceur Holiday Bark products aren’t part of Aldi Australia’s seasonal range.
Australia also has its own rigorous food safety system. Any recalls affecting Australian consumers are published by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) and appear prominently on Aldi Australia’s website and in-store notices.
Currently, no Australian Christmas chocolates appear on official recall lists, confirming local products are unaffected.
