There’s a new robot vacuum on the market that promises to give time back to Aussie families with pets. It claims we’ll be able to spend more time with our fur babies and less time cleaning up after them… now doesn’t that sound great?
As a fairly new fur parent to my seven-month-old miniature dachshund, Hazel, cleaning has become an hourly task. And I’m not joking.
Picture me running around after a little, sassy, sausage-shaped girl who loves bringing in leaves and debris from outside. Her newest trick? Stealing empty toilet rolls, only to rip them apart all over the floor. And of course, being a gorgeous long-haired dachshund, her fur is everywhere.
It’s a never-ending job, and on workdays when I get home, the apartment floors look like a bomb has gone off. Instead of being able to spend time playing with her, I’m frantically trying to clean up her mess.
I had to put Ecovacs’ claim to the test. Would their new robot vacuum actually help me reduce the clean-up time of having a cheeky little dashy? Let’s see.

Ecovacs DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI review verdict
- Our rating: (8.5 out of 10)
- Why we rated it that:
Pros
- Easy set-up
- Flawless voice control
- Extending arm to go under cupboards and all the way to the baseboards
- Self-cleaning function
- Easy to control
- Pet-friendly solution
Cons
- Once it’s mapped, if you move something it won’t vacuum there. E.g., for a clean we moved Hazel’s crate, and it didn’t vacuum that area.
What’s so special about Ecovacs DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI?
The Ecovacs DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI has an instant self-washing mop and the roller is 50% longer than previous models which means it covers more floor area in each pass. The pressurised water pump tackles stubborn messes so if you’ve spilt something, it’s no problem. It didn’t leave any streaks once it dried and the floors looked shiny and spotless. I especially love the edge cleaning roller that extends to clean closer along edges for wall-to-wall results and the voice control. It also looks quite smart aesthetically and doesn’t take up too much space.
We also monitor ECOVACS’ sales year-round, including flash promotions, category-wide discounts, and limited time codes, so you’re getting the best price available now.

How to use DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI
The DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI is easy to use but I will say you do need to be digitally-savvy, at least for the set-up. The vacuum comes with clear instructions which makes the process fairly simple.

For first use
Step 1
Unpack your new vacuum and set it up. Assemble the station, remove any stickers or tape, fill the clean water tank, and ensure the dust bag is installed.
Step 2
Download the ECOVACS Home app and create an account. Connect the DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI to your wifi. Ensure it is the same wifi your phone is connected to.
Step 3
Set it to map your home via TrueMapping.
Step 4
Once your home is fully mapped, set up virtual no-go zones, scenario cleaning and schedule the cleans.
Step 5
Set up voice control if you wish.
For regular cleaning
Step 1
Prepare your environment by clearing cables, clothes, toys or small obstacles from the floor.
Step 2
Open the app and select the type of clean you’d like performed, or say ‘Okay YIKO,’ and e.g. ‘start deep clean’.
Note: If you’ve scheduled cleans, you don’t need to do anything – it’ll just start on its own.

Results from our test
I was optimistic and excited to set it off for the first time. My puppy, Hazel, however, seemed super suss of this new, speaking vacuum taking residence next to her crate.
The results? The DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI was super effective. I started it after Hazel went on a leaf-destroying spree in our lounge room, so there was plenty of mess for it to clean up. Was Hazel happy to see her messy masterpiece cleaned? No. But was I happy? Absolutely.
Here’s how it went down…
It was time to map my apartment, so I cleared Hazel’s toys from the floor (but left her mess!) and opened the doors to every room in my apartment. It rolled around, mapping each space individually. It noticed which room had floorboards and which was carpeted, which I found really cool, and when it was finished, I had a detailed floor plan of the whole apartment.
I went into the app and decided to set up a few different cleaning scenarios. First, a deep clean option for the whole apartment. In this option, I set it to do 2 passes of a high-power suction in the carpeted bedrooms, and a vacuum followed by a 2 pass mop of the living space and bathrooms. I set up a daily pet area clean which is 1 pass of vacuuming and mopping. I also set up a general clean of the whole apartment.
After setting it off, I watched it clean for a while. It picked up all the ripped up paper and leaves, as well as pet fur and other debris before doing a pass of the mop. While it was working, I had to leave the apartment for a couple of hours. I got notified on my phone when it was finished, and when it was self-cleaning. When I got home, the floors were spotless. To say it was a massive success is an understatement.

Overall, is DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI worth it?
The DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI is definitely worth it. It cleaned up Hazel’s mess – from shredded paper to leaves and fur – with no effort or help from me. I was able to play with her while it was cleaning, and I left it working while my family went out to enjoy our day.
Clean up is also easy. I emptied the dirty water tank and washed the container in warm, soapy water. Then I emptied out the dust bag. It auto-cleans the roller, but I took it out to give it another quick clean, though it wouldn’t need to be done super often.
