Book an Uber on Sunday June 3 and they will come and pick up your unwanted clothes, shoes and accessories from outside your front door – and deliver them to a Red Cross store – for free.

It’s not only the perfect opportunity to finally get rid of that bag of clothes that’s been sitting in the boot of your car, it’s also a great time to declutter your wardrobe.

Uber drivers will be collecting bagged donations from homes in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and the Gold Coast, free-of-charge.

All you need is bag up your clothes and then open the Uber app between 12pm and 4pm on 3 June, 2018. If you haven’t used Uber before, download the Uber app and create an account. Then select the Red Cross Clothing Drive card and tap ‘Request’ and confirm your pick-up location. Where available, your items will be picked up free of charge.

“Thanks to the generosity of thousands of Aussies who donate their quality pre-loved fashion, proceeds from our op shops go towards our vital services helping people overcome crisis at home and further afield,” says Brooke Sclater, merchandise operations manager at Australian Red Cross.

Drivers are unable to leave their cars for collection, so upon arrival, you will need to bring your bagged items out to the car. Only donate quality, wearable clothes. Ditch anything stained or damaged.
