Even the best-laid plans can fall flat – especially when you’re trying to declutter.
The problems is that sometimes we don’t even realise we’re hoarding until it’s too late.
Here are three signs you’re actually hoarding instead of decluttering
Keeping old paperwork
Sure, your paperwork might be neatly organised in a folder or draw. The question is, do you still need these documents or are you hoarding them unnecessarily?
Keeping old cords
That pretty basket full of old cords: do you actually know what each of them does? It might be time to find a use for them or contact your local council for information on how to recycle them.
Buying more storage before decluttering
It’s a common mistake but buying storage before decluttering only creates more space to stash things you don’t really need. Once you’ve decided on the items you would like to keep, then it’s time to work out if you actually need some more storage, perhaps you could do without.
