The Australian Passport Office announced a new passport rule which comes into effect in July this year.
Under the new rule, people who wear glasses will need to remove them while having their passport photo taken.
“Research has shown that glasses adversely affect passport facial matching. Matching is more accurate without glasses,” the Australian Passport Office said.
“A limited exemption for medical reasons may apply where supported by a medical certificate.”
