Spent your summer downtime decluttering, cleaning and reorganising? Now’s the time to transform those freshly organised spaces with the perfect finishing touches. And if you want to achieve this without blowing all of your new year budget resolutions, you’ll be glad to know that Kmart’s new homewares and furniture range has just dropped and it’s actually kind of incredible.

I’ve studied the entire range, and here’s my advice for success: skip the decorative knick-knacks and opt for the surprisingly affordable, practical staple pieces made from high-quality materials (such as Australian-grown cotton) that are most likely to last the distance.

Here are 13 items worth buying from Kmart’s new homewares and furniture range.

Our top picks from Kmart’s new homewares range

Velvet queen upholstered bedhead in brown from Kmart

Want to make your bedroom feel a little more sophisticated and cosy? This bedhead will do the trick! It’s made from touchable velvet in an understated shade of brown that’s totally on trend. Get in quick though, this item is sure to sell out fast!

Striped mocha sheet set from Kmart

Continuing on with the brown theme (it’s a trend that’s not going anywhere soon!) is this cotton sheet set in a timeless striped pattern. You’ll find designer versions of these sheets online for upwards of $300, but this set is a complete steal at just $50 (for king sized!).
If you prefer to keep things classic, keep your eyes peeled for the white and natural version (which is currently on sale for $40, down from $50).

3-drawer chest in walnut from Kmart with textured detailing

No one will believe you bought this storage chest from Kmart … I mean, that travertine-look top? The ribbed drawers and sleek drawer pulls?

If your bedroom is pinched for space but you desperately need more storage, this is the kind of furniture piece that can work as both a bedside table and clothing storage (it’s 78cm in height, so make sure it works with the height of your bed frame first) and look incredible while doing it.

This unit also comes in black with a marble-look top, if your bedroom has a moodier colour scheme.

Nico chrome portable rechargeable lamp

Want to make your home feel more ambient and cosy? Get a lamp! It’s one of the easiest, and most affordable ways to turn up the drama and set the mood. Kmart’s ‘Nico’ lamp has been a popular choice for a while, but this season we’re seeing the release of three new colours including this on-trend chrome.

Chrome and chocolate brown are a match made in heaven, so if you’ve been embracing warm brown tones in your home, you won’t regret buying this!

Gingham Australian cotton reversible quilt cover set in chocolate from Kmart

This quilt cover set has lots going for it. First, let’s talk materials. When it comes to bedding, for me, natural fibres are non-negotiable. This is made from 100% Australian-grown cotton. That means it’ll feel nice against your skin (important especially if you prefer to skip the top sheet) and it will help to regulate your temperature in both summer and winter.

Next, how about that gingham pattern? Sure, it’s very trendy, but at this point, gingham is a classic pattern that will never really go out of style. If you do get over the pattern, though, the reverse is pretty enough that you could flip it for an entirely new look.

Finally, the details. Look at the piping on the edge of the pillows and quilt cover. It may be a minute detail but it makes the end result look so much more expensive than it really is!

BHG Staff review: “I recently purchased Kmart’s gingham cotton quilt cover set and can confirm it is super soft and lightweight. I love it!” – Sarah Murphy, BHG Food Editor.

Kmart multi head spin mop

I have an obsession with clean floors, and people often ask me whether a flat mop or a string mop is better. It’s a hard question, because both serve very important functions in my floor cleaning kit. That’s why I was so excited to see Kmart’s solution to this dilemma: a spin mop with an interchangeable flat mop attachment! It’s genius!

Other features that make this cleaning gadget worth the $50 price tag is the functionality. It has separate clean and dirty water reservoirs and the bucket has a drainage hole, making it easy to clean up when you’re finished. The mop heads are machine washable too!

Wood handle woven basket in walnut from Kmart

Keep your newly decluttered wardrobe tidy with storage options that are both chic and functional. This basket is a great option, perfect for keeping out-of-season jumpers stacked until cool weather hits.

Australian cotton waffle throw in tan from Kmart

Got a spot in your home that feels a little drab but you just can’t put your finger on what’s lacking? It could be missing texture! This simple, affordable and lightweight throw is the antidote you need. Drape it over the arm of a chair or at the foot of your bed for instant texture and cosiness.

Togo replica chair from Kmart in beige colour

I’ve been covering Kmart homewares and furniture launches for almost a decade now, and I have to admit I was kind of shocked when I saw this chair in the lineup. It’s obviously inspired by Ligne Roset’s iconic Togo Fireside Chair (which will set you back upwards of $5000). Kmart’s version achieves the look without the price tag!

Ruffle stripe cotton reversible quilt cover from Kmart

If you want to update your bedroom without disrupting an established neutral colour palette, try experimenting with ruffles! Ruffles are having a major moment right now. This quilt cover, made from 100% cotton, is a great way to dip your toe into the trend without investing a fortune. It’s also reversible, meaning you can swap from thick stripes to pinstripes whenever you fancy.

Wave bookshelf with rounded feet Kmart

If one of your resolutions for 2026 is to read more, you may need a shelf to store your to-be-read pile! This quaint little bookshelf could do double duty as a bedside table, and the wave detailing is subtle and sophisticated.

Forest green rug from Kmart

Want to give your living room a refresh but don’t want to spend a fortune? Forget painting the walls, forget a new sofa because a new rug could be just the change you need. This rug, in a natural forest green shade, will make any living room feel more calm and more uplifting.

Green striped rectangle storage ottoman from Kmart

I’m always looking for ways to sneak extra storage into my home, and this green ottoman is exactly what I need. It’s perfect for stowing away blankets, throw cushions or kids’ toys – and once everything’s packed away, it doubles as a footrest.

Green velvet Frankie mirror from Kmart

Every home needs an entry mirror – for that last-second check before you leave the house. If you don’t have one, the Frankie mirror, at $12 is a must-have. It’s functional and fun to look at, i.e. it’s a win-win.

Wave multicoloured caddy storage organisation set from Kmart

I am so relieved that clear and white storage containers are on the way out! Sure, they’re practical, but if you’re searching for something underneath the laundry sink, you kind of want it to stand out! That’s what makes this caddy set so genius. You can use it for cleaning supplies (the handles make it easy to carry everything from room to room) or for whatever your heart desires (craft storage, beauty supplies etc.).
