This cocktail’s name stems from one of the ‘fabled’ origins of the margarita. On a hot summer’s day in Acapulco a Dallas socialite, Margarita Sames was challenged by her friends to create a refreshing drink, after many failed attempts she came up with the Margarita. The word for Margarita in Spanish is ‘Daisy’ and the colour is emblematic of her flowing summer dress.
