5 reasons we’ll be watching Adam Dovile on Dancing with the Stars

That glorious smile is one of them

Our very own Adam Dovile is starring on Dancing with the Stars, which means he’ll be brightening up our living rooms an extra night a week!

As our DIY presenter for almost a decade, he has stolen hearts with his wonderful smile, wholesome personality and endless tutorials which have made our homes look better on a budget.

Whether it was building coffee tables, making over an entry way or teaching us simple things like how to fix a toilet roll holder, he’s been there for us every step of the way.

And now, it’s time for us to be there for him. If that’s not reason enough, here’s 5 reasons why we will be watching every single night! Plus, we’ve found 3 of his best DIY projects that you must try.

1. He’s dancing for charity

There’s nothing scarier than learning how to dance on national TV, but he’s taking a leap of faith for the Prostate and Breast Cancer Foundation.

“I think it will be hard to stay in the postures that I have to get into… [but] I’m not too worried about the criticism. I know I’m never going to be perfect and I’m looking forward to hearing how I can improve.”

2. The reason he signed up is so sweet!

Why did Adam Dovile sign up for Dancing with the Stars, you ask?

For his six and seven-year-old daughter. “They love dancing themselves… They love the thought of me dancing and doing something other than building on TV,” he shared in an announcement.

It’s not the first time he’s used his girls as inspiration. He made this gorgeous mid-century doll house and we’re still dreaming about it.

3. His smile!

We all know and love his smile, but sadly for us, he won’t be able to smile his way through the competition. In fact, some dances won’t allow it.

“The facial expressions are going to kill me. I am really going to struggle with the dances where I can’t smile,” Dovile said.

But luckily for us, we can almost guarantee he’ll be smiling for the rest of the show.

4. The teacher becomes the student

Adam’s been educating us every Friday night, and for the first time, we’re going to see him become the student. He admitted he doesn’t have any previous dancing strengths, but he has a good memory and has been training hard with his dance partner, Jess.

“We spend a lot of time laughing, but Jess is a good teacher. She’s got the most patience of anyone I’ve ever met in my life. She reminds me to do the same thing probably 1,000 times and she’s always so polite and calm.”

Jess’ teaching style sounds similar to his own; he’s broken down even the most daunting renovations and has made them achievable for any level of DIYer.

This kitchen renovation on a budget is a prime example.

5. The dance moves, duh!

He hasn’t been quiet about the fact he can’t dance, but we’re ready for him to be the dark horse once again.

“I used to play footy growing up and I ended up with a bad knee. One time I was at a party and I was going hard on the dancefloor,” Dovile shared. “I did one move and my kneecap popped out. I fell backwards and smacked my head on the bar and just made an absolute goof of myself. I struggled to get back up as my knee was still out of place. It was quite embarrassing.”

While that experience prevented him from pursuing a dancing career, we couldn’t be happier that he decided to focus on building fun projects.
