On New Year’s Eve 2019, when most of us were out celebrating, the Bateman’s Bay community was in crisis. Alongside many other communities along the NSW & Victorian coast, they were fighting the bushfires – and a particularly fierce one was coming their way. As it attacked the community with enormous ferocity, burning everything in its wake, thousands of people and their pets escaped the fire to shelter on the beautiful beach at Malua Bay. This week, Dr Harry is meeting the community to find out more about their extraordinary stories of human and animal survival.
