When I joined the team of talented cooks at BHG, I felt a tad self-conscious about my lack of culinary skills.
Transparently, my partner did most of the cooking at home, and when I did contribute to the weekly meal plan, it was always with one of the five dishes that I’ve had on rotation for years, made with the same set of tired non-stick cookware.
Needless to say, I needed a reset in the kitchen, and when the opportunity to review the viral Our Place Always Pan (and a few other pieces of their famous non-stick cookware) popped up, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to get back behind the stove. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed.
At a glance: Our Place Perfect Pot and Always Pan review
Rating: 9/10
As someone who isn’t confident in the kitchen (and who loves pretty things), Our Place cookware ticks all of my boxes. Even on my terrible cooktop, the heat distribution was unmatched, making cooking feel surprisingly easy.

From my many tests, the Always Pan and Perfect Pot consistently delivered an even cook, and both heated up much quicker than my old, worn-out cookware set, thus minimising time in the kitchen. There were no burnt food incidents, the non-toxic, non-stick coating was remarkably effective, and it was comforting to know that I didn’t have to worry about microplastics and toxins creeping into my food.
Pros
- Beautiful colourways
- Non-toxic and non-stick coating
- Great heat distribution
- Generous size for large portions
- Comes with utensils, complete with divets for balancing them on the side of the Perfect Pot when cooking
Cons
- My partner is too scared to use the Always Pan or Perfect Pot because they’re ‘so pretty’
- Premium price point
My honest review of the Always Pan & Perfect Pot
While upgrading my cookware with aesthetically pleasing staples from Our Place may seem like a slightly materialistic way to get out of a cooking slump, it worked like a charm. And no, that isn’t purely because they’re gorgeous; I really do think my meals have been tastier since I switched over to this cult-favourite brand, and even my sceptical partner agrees.

For a little context, my cooktop is terrible. Even on the lowest settings, everything seemed to burn, and I’ve even found myself having to move my cookware from hot elements to switched-off elements multiple times during a single cooking session just to prevent food from burning. I thought this struggle was unrelated to my pots and pans; clearly, all I needed was a good set.
In fact, since switching to Our Place, I’ve finally been able to recreate my favourite family soup recipe in the Perfect Pot, which I left to simmer for hours, and despite the requirements for a huge volume of veggies and legumes, as well as a large bacon hock, nothing stuck to the bottom.
However, the best part about adding Our Place cookware to my kitchenware collection is that, over the past couple of weeks, I’ve felt genuinely motivated to get in the kitchen. As it turns out, it’s much easier to be excited about cooking when everything you make comes out perfectly.
What comes in the box?
When I tell you that unboxing the Our Place Ceramic Cookware Set was an experience, I really mean it. From the thoughtfully designed packaging to the way you have to peel back layers to reveal the next piece of cookware, it felt a lot like opening presents on Christmas morning.
Inside the Ceramic Cookware Set, which is my Our Place bundle of choice, you’ll find:
- Always Pan
- Perfect Pot
- Always Pan Mini
- Mini Perfect Pot
- Steamer / Pasta Strainer
- 2x Beachwood Nesting Spoons
- 2x Beechwood Spatulas
And don’t worry about missing out on utensils; even if you buy cookware seperately, you’ll still get a cute spatula or spoon.
The bacon & eggs test
In the past, making scrambled eggs and cured bacon has often required treating my pans to an overnight soak, and to really put this cookware to the test, I wanted to see if the Always Pan could handle what its predecessors couldn’t.
In short, the Always Pan passed with flying colours. Transparently, the bacon and egg test was conducted when I was ravenous, and I was simply too greedy to snap a pic before gobbling up the results. However, the late-night snack plate came out perfect, there was no irritating sticky residue on the cookware, and clean up only required a light wash in the sink (unheard of, I know).
So, is Our Place cookware actually good quality?
In a nutshell, yes, Our Place cookware is absolutely good quality.
While, as an amateur home cook, I’ve only cooked standard meals with the Perfect Pot and Always Pan, I’m yet to find any faults (besides the fact that my partner is too scared to use them because of how pretty they are). No, Our Place doesn’t make the cheapest cookware on the market, but if you’re looking to invest in a high-quality, non-toxic set that actually looks good in your kitchen, I really couldn’t recommend the brand enough.
How to get the best deals on Our Place cookware
Editor’s tip: If you’re waiting for a sale, keep an eye on our Our Place Sale Guide; it’s updated with all the best deals every time Our Place launches a sale.
The only drawback, which cost Our Place 1 star in my overall ranking, was the price point. With their trending Always Pan priced at $250 and Perfect Pot going for $275, it’s clear that their coveted cookware staples are investment pieces, and not something most of us would buy on a whim.
However, there are ways to start your Our Place cookware collection without breaking the bank, like waiting for one of their big sales (which usually pop up seasonally and during major sale events like Black Friday) or investing in a bundle. My personal preference is the latter; better to save up and get everything you need in one go – all while saving hundreds of dollars.
