One of the most important features of your living room is undoubtedly your couch. It’s the main centrepiece that ties in all your other furniture, and can really make or break your home aesthetic.
Knowing this, I went into couch hunting with one specific thing in mind: it had to be stylish, but also very practical. And I think I found the perfect one.

And after having this sofa in my living room for a few weeks now, I’m ready to share my honest thoughts.

Lifely Modular Washable Sofa review
Since I live in an apartment with limited space, I opted for a three-seater. I figured it would be big enough to seat about four or five people comfortably (important when hosting), but also not too big that it would completely take over the room.
The exact colour I chose, the Linen Beige, is already sold out online – speaking to the popularity of these sofas. But that leads me to my next point: you can chop and change your covers whenever you want.
This was something that I really loved, because it means I can upgrade my living room without having to spend thousands on a new sofa. I can just change the covers, and voila, it’s an entirely new couch.

Is it comfortable?
After trying out the Modular Sofa for a few weeks, I would go as far as to say it feels like sitting on a cloud. So yes, I’d say it’s pretty comfortable.
The fabric is smooth to the touch, and the cushions are firm, so you don’t feel like you’re sinking in (important when it’s time to get up), but also moulds to your body, so it’s not too stiff.
I’ve even managed to fall asleep a few times, and I honestly think it might be more comfortable than my bed. Oh, and considering my dog is constantly trying to get on the couch, I’d say he finds it quite comfy as well.
What was the set-up like?
Now I can’t take credit for setting up the sofa – that was all my fiancé’s doing. But I did watch him do it, and honestly? It looked pretty simple.
“It was a very straightforward installation process, feels like you don’t even need the manual,” he says. “I like how the installation was designed to have minimal screwing.”
He also mentioned that they’re all “built relatively the same”, so once you make one piece of the couch, it’s very easy to do the next.
However, he did note that it was a bit strange how the pillows “felt like they didn’t fit in their covers and had to be forced in.”
I noticed this too, but realised they just needed to be massaged in before they found their perfect form.
Is it easy to clean?
Considering I’ve been eating, drinking and napping on this couch, it’s managed to stay quite fresh and clean. I have had to wipe down a few paw prints, but it was nothing my spot cleaner couldn’t get out.
It does pick up a few dog hairs (thank you, Apollo), but nothing a quick vacuum can’t fix.
