I’ve always admired people who find cleaning “calming” or “therapeutic,” but I am not, and will likely never be, one of them. Unfortunately, my dislike for the task doesn’t change the reality: between a house that sheds dust like confetti and a dog who treats my floors like her personal doormat, I spend far too much time vacuuming alone.

So when Dreame offered me the chance to try out their Aqua10 Ultra Roller Robot Vacuum, there was very little anyone could do to hold me back.

What is the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller?

The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller is a high-tech robot vacuum and mop complete with all the bells and whistles you could possibly ask for. Featuring ultra-powerful suction (30,000 PA, to be exact) and an innovative roller mop, complete with a carpet guard, it provides an all-inclusive solution to floor maintenance that genuinely leaves your floors sparkling. However, it’s the fully automated nature of this robot vacuum that really seals the deal.

Unlike other models that are always getting stuck on household objects and require frequent cleaning, the Aqua10 Ultra Roller is packed full of features that drastically minimise the amount of effort needed from your end.

It can clear obstacles up to 8cm, scan your home for objects to avoid, and boasts an innovative self-cleaning feature, making for a surprisingly independent personal assistant; all you need to do is switch the water and filter.

And that’s not all; one criminally underrated feature that I adore is the Pet Care feature. Offering a specialised pet cleaning mode, pet monitoring function, and an album of photos of your fuzzy friends, it basically doubles as a Furbo.

The verdict

  • Rating: 8.5 out of 10
  • Why I rated it an 8.5/10: Dreame’s Aqua10 Ultra Roller Robot Vacuum has cut down my weekly cleaning time by hours, and now that I’ve experienced just how convenient these little household helpers are, I couldn’t imagine going back to my old stick vacuum. In fact, over the two months that I’ve spent trialling this model, I’ve yet to see it get stuck, struggle to deep clean my bigger rooms, or have any kind of technical issues that I’ve seen from other models.

One of the only, albeit very minor, issues I’ve had is that the vacuum doesn’t seem to love my bathroom. As it’s quite small and doubles as my dog’s cool-down spot, the tiles see much more dirt than the rest of the house. Add in the room’s unreliable internet connection, and I can’t really blame the device for missing some tiles (after all, it usually leaves the rest of my house spotless after just one clean).

Pros

  • Super powerful suction: no crumbs left behind
  • Performs well on both hard floors and carpets
  • Mopping feature never spreads mess around (owing to the fresh water mopping feature and continuous self-cleaning function)
  • Smart navigation that avoids obstacles, even in low light
  • Customisable home mapping with the option to add furniture and no-go zones
  • Auto-empties, washes and dries the roller for super low-maintenance cleaning
  • Moves smoothly across mixed flooring and small thresholds
  • Camera mode and an adorable pet photography feature

Cons

  • Premium price point
  • Particularly dirty floors sometimes need a second round of cleaning
  • It seems to take a couple of cleaning cycles before the robot fully understands the space and delivers a really deep clean
  • After using this robot vacuum, it becomes borderline impossible to go back to a regular vacuum

Is Dreame a trustworthy brand?

From my own experience, Dreame has proven to be a very trustworthy brand. As I’ve made very clear, I love their Aqua10 Ultra Roller robot vacuum, and while I’ve only been testing it out for two months, I’m yet to encounter any problems.

In fact, after seeing how well their robot vacuum performs, I just had to try their other products out. The next extension of my Dreame collection was their Airstyle Pro hair tool, which I’d describe as an equally effective but much more affordable alternative to the Dyson AirWrap. The best part? I managed to track down a $200 off promotion during Black Friday, and took it home for just $399 from Bing Lee.

How did my Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller test go?

This review hasn’t been an easy one to write. In fact, the Dream Aqua10 Ultra Roller robot vacuum is packed with so many features that, if I were to cover each one, the length of this article would reach that of a full-length novel.

To make a very long story short, this robot vacuum has genuinely changed my life (and no, I’m not being dramatic). For context, I live in an older townhouse with exposed brick walls that often leave my floors coated in powder and flakes. This source of never-ending mess, combined with a dog who loves nothing more than tracking in dirt from the yard, resulted in my spending hours per week vacuuming, mopping and scrubbing, just to maintain a reasonably clean home.

Since taking home the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller, I can finally come home to sparkling floors after a long day of work. The best part? I’ve reduced my floor maintenance routine to a very manageable 15 minutes per week, which only involves going over the (very few) spots that have been missed with a handheld vacuum or sponge.

Overall, is it worth it?

The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller is definitely worth the investment, so long as you have the budget for this high-end option. While I wasn’t paid for this review, Dreame was kind enough to send over this model for me to try; if I had to purchase a robot vacuum myself, I’d likely opt for one of their lower-end models, like the D20 Robot Vacuum or D10S Robot Vacuum, but that’s purely for money-saving purposes.

However, over the last few months, I’ve witnessed other writers try a range of robot vacuums and noticed just how often they got stuck and needed a human to help them get back on track. In my time using this model from Dreame, there hasn’t been a single instance where my robot vacuum needed assistance (besides, of course, the occasional filter change or water refresh).
