Many of us have fond memories of the little fluffy chick inside a Darrell Lea Nougat Easter Egg. So when it disappeared a few years ago, people were upset.

The good news is the fluffy chick is back – and this time, there are three colours to collect!

“Where is the fluffy chicken?!”

For generations, Aussies cracking open a nougat Easter egg meant two things: a sugar hit, but also a tiny yellow fluffball inside.

So when the chick quietly disappeared in 2020, fans were left with a fluffy-chick-sized hole in their lives.

Senior digital content producer Rachel Iorfino says: “The only reason I’d buy a chocolate for myself at Easter would be for a cute, fluffy chick.”

On Reddit, the sentiment was the same, with users recalling childhood collections of the little birds.

“A lot of their eggs came with little fluffy yellow chickens. I had quite a collection in the mid-late 90s.,” wrote one person.

Another added, “Why else would I have wanted one so badly? It was for the itty-bitty baby bird inside. Choking hazards be damned!”
