There’s nothing worse than having to drive around the same block several times to find a park, only to see one car that has either double parked, or parked so terribly that no other vehicle could possibly squeeze in to the leftover space.
As it turns out, there’s an app for that, and it’s been collecting data on poorly parked vehicles for the past year. Incident reporting app Snap Send Solve is an app you can use to report incidents such as this in your area.
It works like this: if you see something that isn’t right in your local area, such as illegally dumped rubbish or incorrectly parked cars, you take a photo of it with your phone and log it as an incident in the app, which then forwards your issue on to the responsible department or organisation.
Data from the app has been pulled into a report about the most common gripes and council issues in Australia, and it has revealed that drivers in New South Wales are some of the worst parkers in Australia.
According to the data, it turns out that bad parking is the biggest issue across the country. A total of 14,758 reports were made in New South Wales alone, making the state the worst in the country for incorrectly parked cars. However, drivers in Victoria came in at a close second, with more than 10,000 complaints about incorrectly parked vehicles lodged in Victoria.
The only other state to even come close to the amount of complaints about incorrectly parked cars in New South Wales and Victoria was Queensland, with a reasonable 3566 reports submitted for the whole state.
Last year the app handled more than 200,000 reports.
